Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 May 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your browser to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences and authentication state.
2. What cookies we use
We use two categories of cookies:
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking the site:
- Authentication: Firebase Auth session cookies, used to keep you signed in
- Security: anti-CSRF tokens, used to prevent cross-site attacks
- Consent: a record of your cookie preferences (so we don't ask again on every visit)
2.2 Analytics cookies (optional)
These help us understand how the service is used so we can improve it. Set only after you click Accept on the cookie banner:
- PostHog: product analytics. Records page views, button clicks, feature usage. We use PostHog's EU-hosted instance.
- Plausible: lightweight web analytics. Cookieless by default; we do not enable Plausible's optional cookies.
- Firebase Analytics: app-level usage analytics. Standard Firebase cookies for session and user identification.
3. Third-party cookies
The third-party services we integrate with (listed in our Privacy Policy) may set their own cookies when you interact with them. For example:
- Stripe sets cookies when you go through checkout (for fraud prevention and session management). See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Firebase / Google services may set cookies for authentication and analytics.
4. How to manage cookies
You can manage your cookie preferences in three ways:
4.1 Cookie banner
The cookie banner shown on your first visit lets you Accept or Decline analytics cookies. If you Decline, only strictly necessary cookies are used.
4.2 Re-open cookie preferences
Click the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer at any time to re-open the cookie banner and change your choice. Or use the button below:
4.3 Browser controls
You can also control cookies via your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will break the service (you won't be able to sign in).
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies evolves. The "Last updated" date will always reflect the most recent version.
